Clear the Way
Service-Learning at the Bureau of Land Management's Douglas
Creek Canyon
Douglas Creek was formed by a flood. It was then turned into a
railroad, and since then it has been abandoned. The present day
goal is to turn that abandoned railroad bed into a recreational
trail. Many of the hardships that we endured during our trip were
due to environmental and physical conditions. Over the duration
of our stay our main goal was to map the railroad bed with Global
Positioning System (GPS) technology. Included in this web site are
pictures of our trip.
